Catching up!

Just had a break with visiting family, lovely to see old and young faces some of whom have never been to Ireland before and some who have, many times. We travelled around Co. Mayo for walks up mountains, around lakes and along wide open sandy beaches, stopping off for lunches at local cafes and pubs. We sketched the landscape, my 8 year old companion and me, and I shared weaving with a very keen 5 year old. Both had treasures to take home threads from spinning, knitting,  painted stones and colourful bookmarks. So, even though I wasn't doing much of my own art I was encouraging little people to be creative.

However, I have gathered some lovely photos of some Irish wild flowers and am about to start some sketching and painting, am so excited!!!

May is now giving way to June but the plants in land and garden are still in a timewarp governed by the weather and are some weeks behind. Not that I mind as it gives me more time to contemplate and work on the spring-time beauties.

As soon as I get started I shall put up some photos, so watch this space.

Bye for now.
