  1. Well, what happened there then, no blog for the last few years. Sorry folks!

Just because there has been no blog doesn't mean I have been idle. More studio clearing, painting, selling, finding new retailers and a stand at Showcase Ireland in Dublin, a wonderful painting holiday in Italy with painter Cora Murphy and visiting with another great artist Liz Doyle in Donegal. So I have been busy, just not on the blog!!

More recent news, I was interviewed for a feature by Irish TV for two of their programmes, Out and About in Ireland and Mayo County Matters, to be broadcast in March. (You can find the link on my Cards from Ireland face book page). Once they have aired I shall put it on this website and my face book page.

Five new designs are at the printers now, for Lunasa in Belmullet,  north west Mayo and more are coming for the Leenane area. They will be in my shop before long and announced on face book. A sneak preview of a few of these images to follow shortly, in the meantime, happy days and back to my painting!

  2. Well I can truely say that Autumn has arrived as I spent yesterday afternoon sweeping up leaves in the garden and picking blackberries along my lane! Even thought the weather over the last few days has surpassed itself with lovely sunshine and bright blue skies not to mention the high temperatures.

I spent some of September on holiday in Co. Clare, visiting the Burren, Killaloe and Doolin. We took a boat over to Innishere for the day and had a boat trip around the Cliffs of Moher accommpanied by the resident wild dolhpin! I took a series of photos and did some sketching as well as walking swimming and generally relaxing.  Below are a few images.

Back to painting now in earnest, much to do to prepare for Christmas, dare I mention that word already, but us creative folks do have to look ahead. So with that in mind I am into some mixed media work as well as continuing with the wild flowers.

I'm also loving finding some talented mixed media artists including Louise O'Hara, she has a busy facebook page Drawing to Stitch and a lovely website too. www.drawntostitch.com her work is delightful. I also have an artist friend Sara Johnson who is busy teaching and exhibiting around the east of England Suffolk and Norfolk this year. You can find her work at www.sarajohnson-art.co.uk. Her work is beautiful, understated landscapes and bird studies in watercolour and pen and wash.

On that note I'll close for September and see you in October with hopefully some more new work!!
